Am I Stuck Forever in Homosexuality?

In a word, absolutely not! But most people truly believe that if they have same sex desires that there is no escape. And most people, even Christian people, will confirm this to them if they ask.

When I finally started talking with others about the secret sins I was dealing with, most people gave me a version of, “We love you anyway. You will always struggle with this, but you don’t have to be alone forever. We will be your friend so you aren’t alone.”

The implication was, you are forever stuck in your “sexual orientation.” But sexual orientation is an invented concept towards the end of the 1800’s and early 1900’s. People like Freud, who was not a model Christian to say the least, taught that you have an orientation towards sexual desire and it is fixed.

This was and still is a lie. In 2026, the prevalent teaching is that “You were born this way.” I don’t argue about this. I just say that regardless of how you were born, you must be born again (John 3).

For some reason, people believe that those with alcohol issues need to change, and can. They believe those with gambling problems need to change, and can. They also believe that those with lying problems, coveting problems, and stealing problems need to change, and can do so. But homosexuality, they say… well this is not changeable.

This is simply deception of the enemy, who prowls around and seeks someone to devour.

No one is stuck in any sin, regardless of what it is. You can and must repent. If you do so, you’ll be set free. Now it may take a lifetime of repenting daily, hourly, or however often it takes. But, you can be set free from the bondage of homosexuality and every other sin.
